The Drunkards Path block is in no way a Lark Quilts original. We have quilts using this block that date back to the 1840's and the pattern itself is seen in ancient Egypt and Rome. Even though there is nothing new about this block, I just had to include it in this book for a number of reasons. First of all, there is such variety of designs you can achieve with color placement and block orientation. It is so unlike most other blocks, because you can create hundreds of different patterns, both traditional and modern, with this one block alone. Second, it is a great skill building block. If you have never worked with curves in quilting, this is a great place to start. This pattern includes printable templates for piecing the block.
